WE Restore Graduation 2025

Perhaps the highlight of our August 2025 trip to Uganda was the 3rd Annual WE Restore Home Graduation ceremony. The class of 2025 went out in style. In all, 27 teens and young women graduated with certificates in tailoring and hairdressing.

At nearly twice the size of last year’s class, this year’s grads hold promise. Many of the grads have jobs. For those who don’t, the WE Restore staff will continue to support them until they obtain gainful employment.

A few of the guys joined in on one of the native dances performed by some of the teens and young women at the WE Restore Home.

Twenty-two of the grads obtained certificates in hairdressing; the rest were deemed proficient in tailoring. Notably, one of the hairdressing grads–Suzan Kizza–specialized in baking. Suzan both baked and decorated the cake used for the celebration. It was pretty tasty.

As with most events in Uganda, there was a lot of music, singing, dancing, and worshipping. You can click on the photo below for a video showing the sights and sounds of the graduation ceremony.
